Clean air and water: Advanced filter technology is accomplishing what was once unthinkable – transforming polluted industrial areas into clean cities. Clear waters from oil-contaminated rivers or clean air from acrid exhaust fumes. Filters must perform under extreme conditions. Sewing threads used in industrial textile filters must therefore be extremely adaptable and robust - even over long periods of time. Corrosive chemicals, oil, constant moisture, or hot gases up to 250 °C are major challenges. Depending on the application, different requirements are placed on the optimum sewing thread, which is always individually adapted to the filter and the medium to be filtered.

A&E Gütermann filter threads are optimized for the most severe conditions and meet at least one of the following properties: temperature, chemical, and hydrolysis resistance, breaking strength, and low shrinkage at high temperatures.  

APPLICATION AREAS

In more than 50% of cases, polyester is the fibre material used for filtering. However, in extreme conditions, pure polyester is often not sufficient and other materials are required. 
A&E Gütermann offers a range of products that can be used for pocket filters (HVAS), oil filters and liquid filtration, silicone-free wet and dry filtration or hot gas filters.

HIGH-TEMPERATURE-RESISTANT FILTERS
High quality filtration products made from aramid fibres ensure safety and efficient operation. Aramids are extremely heat resistant and therefore particularly suitable for use in hot gas filtration.

A&E Gütermann’s offers a range of 100% meta and para-aramid threads. Meta-aramid can withstand temperatures up to 260°C permanently and up to 360°C for short periods, para-aramid up to 449°C for short periods. These are non-melting, flame retardant and self-extinguishing, and able to resist chemicals, light acids, and alkalis. All are certified according to DIN EN ISO 15025.
